Opportunities
Research Internships
We currently offer research internships to motivated and conscientious students with a background in psychology, medicine, neuroscience, or similar fields. Fluent German ability is a strong advantage. Internships generally last between 2-12 months and take place in our lab in Fribourg.
Research interns typically learn how to conduct experiments in the context of a clinical study, and many assist with TMS and EEG measurements (previous experience is not required). We like to tailor each internship to both the needs of our ongoing projects and to your skills and interests, and are always open to suggestions for internship activities that are not described here but could benefit the lab.
Internship activities often include:
- Learning good clinical practices in the context of clinical trials, including conducting study appointments
- Conducting experiments with electroencephalography (EEG)
- Conducting experiments with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS)
- Administering questionnaires and cognitive tasks assessing various aspects of learning and memory
- Attending internal workshops on accompanying psychedelic experiences in studies
- Literature review of topics related to our research
- Various project-based tasks (e.g. questionnaire translations, simple data analysis, participant recruitment, pilot testing experiments, etc.)
A few highly motivated interns have also been involved in scientific publications.
If you are interested in doing an internship with us, please send your CV and a brief description of your interests and goals for a potential internship to gregor.hasler@unifr.ch.
